Northern Tasmania Fishing Report – Sept. 2018

North Tassie is starting to heat up with the snapper not far away. I’ve been focusing my time jigging on top of hard, reef structure with the new Livies soft-plastics rigged on Stingaz jig heads.
Even so, my favourite 60g Beta-bug is still getting a good range of species by letting the jig hit the bottom, winding up a metre while slowly drifting over marks on the sounder.
The local water temp is still only 11.5 – 12 degrees C and very windy so picking out the sweeter tide and moon combinations haven’t been much of an option. It’s more a case of hitting the water when the weather lets you.
Good luck out there and let’s hope this wind eases soon!
