Ben Pinniger – Catch Pro Team

Catch Fishing welcomes Melbournian angler Ben Pinniger, to the Catch Pro Team

More accurately, the 37-year old hails from Melbourne’s Eastern Suburbs, which has him well placed to target the renowned Western Port fishery.

A dedicated kayak fisherman, Ben’s also an affiliate of the 4 Reel anglers, an approximately 45-member strong club local to the Eastern Suburbs as well as the Victorian Kayak Anglers on Facebook.

Ben’s home fishery of Western Port is known for its snapper, whiting and gummy shark. Adventures further from home are usually towards Portland and offshore or Port Welshpool.

High on Ben’s list of short term goals is a 15-kg kayak-landed kingfish, preferably in Australia. That said, Ben would also like to follow up recent adventures in New Zealand with more trips testing the skills of Kiwi mates, Lee Kennedy and Catch Fishing’s own Arnie Mears.

Ben’s girlfriend’s also a keen yak angler so we hope they can both make the trip across.
