Fancy a week fishing your arms to a standstill in subtropical Western Australia? We did!
The Carnar-Fin 2018 is a week-long fishing competition in Carnarvon, Western Australia. Beginning on the 28th of May, the Carnar-Fin’s seven-days long becauseย it’s so far away from anywhere, you definitelyย want to stay the week, not the weekend!
Representing Team Catch, we hit the leaderboard a total of five times during the comp with cobia, Spanish mackerel, red emperor, flathead and tailor. It’s fair to say our Catch range of jigs were on point in the warm waters – the local fish couldnโt resist.
The new Zingazs andย Scythe stickbaitsย got a good workout and proved very successful on the toothy pelagics of the region. A wire trace is essential bite-offs. By catch species such as pearl perch and Rankin cod were similarly aggressive on various jigs and Squidwings.
While we didnโt take home the cake, we did catch a few top fish. All-in-all a thoroughlyย enjoying respite from Winter’s chill.

Tight lines and we’ll chat next month,
