New Catch Pro Team member, Tim Mitchell’s a 28 year old Victorian who has moved to Esperance in Western Australia to get onto the big fish of the Southern Ocean.

Tim’s 6.2 meter fibreglass boat is frequently found on the grounds more than 30-kilometres offshore. He also gets good use from a 3.75m tinny, which he’ll take a far as 10 kilometres out to the islands off Esperance!

He mainly targets nannygai, cod and snapper as well as pelagics such as samsonfish, kingfish and tuna. Occasionally Tim heads to deep water, up to 500-metres, targeting hapuka, blue eye trevalla and other deep cod species.

His target fish is a 40-kilogram Samson fish with his current PB being 31-kilos.

His girlfriend Jade is just as keen a fisho and often out-fishes the boys on a trip out!
