Tobias Hurst – Catch Pro Team

A 28-year old Tasmanian, who calls the Tamar Valley home, Tobias Hurst was an easy pick for the Catch Pro Team.

Primarily a boat fisherman, with his 6.1-metre Seaguard, a typical trip for new Catch Pro Team Member, Tobias Hurst, starts early on the Tamar River.

Ideally, a 6am start sees Tobias and a mate fishing the outgoing tide around Garden Island targeting snapper, gurnard and Australian salmon.

As the tide turns, the 6.1 Seaguard gets pointed back up the river to Beauty Point on the hunt for flathead and shallower run snapper.

More serious adventures usually entail Southern bluefin tuna, Mako shark and broadbill swordfish hunts on the bait-heavy shelfs wide of East Coast, Tasmania.

Tobias’ short term goal is a 25-pound snapper. We certainly look forward to seeing those pics, mate.

Tobias’ wife is also a keen fisho and usually out fishes him so we won’t be surprised if that trophy ends up with her name on it!
